How do I search to see if business is legitimate in Nigeria?

I am trying to find out how to search for a car company in Nigeria truly exists or not. To see if I may be a possible victim of a possible scam. I only have a company name no other information. Where do I start looking? I have not given out any personal information. I am tring to protect myself and possibly others. I know you have to be carefull on the internet. That is why I am asking.

With Nigerea i think if you have to look it up i would not trust it

I have made it my personal "mission" for the last 3 years to investigate and shut down internet and email scams. Many of them claim to originate from Nigeria. If you briefly describe the business relationship that you are considering, I can provide advice.

I would loook into various government records to see if the company has any complaints or legal problems first off.
