Yes I think it should. Unfortunately it's only free to those that have "made a mistake" but those who have done what they were suppose to do and bust their butts on a daily bases are the ones that are suffering and struggling to go to school.

nothing is free. so who would foot the bill on this "free" higher education? the taxpayer.

I think it should be free, however it wont be fair on those of us that have spent an arm and a leg to graduate college.

I don't believe it should be free bc then it would just be like high school, a joke. College is supposed to be educational where ppl actually learn but if college is free then ppl would just go so they didn't have to work and would screw around and distract those that want to learn. Basically it would be like high school where nothing is accomplished. But I def wouldn't mind it being cheaper, especially in PA we have one of the highest tuition rates in the country.

There's such a lack of balance on this issue.Obama's plan is to give $4K to each college student to help defray costs and then they give back some volunteer time to their country. Sounds like a nice balance to me.

Thomas Paine has a great quote that pertains to most things in life:"The harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheaply, we esteem too lightly; 'Tis dearness only that gives everything its value."Pretty much goes for anything we don't have to work for.
