Default Sugar trading?

I have a small business offering technical services (UK)...in recent times I have sourced pre-prod prototypes and samples in China for clients. This has moved to the supply of batches of clothing and now, someone has requested some sugar (I am in a couple of business networks):“....Type I-CUMSA45Minimum order 300-400MT Destination: Iraq.....”Now I can't afford to turn work opportunities away so if I can supply it I will, after all its just a commodity and I now have a trusted link in HK who can possibly put me in touch with a supplier. Can anyone advise:-What are the restrictions on selling food (or anything) to Iraq?-What is important to know about buying sugar from China? Is it a bad idea after all the recent problems in the news?Anyone have some experience in this field.?Thanks for any help.

i think you may need to get in touch with these guys to make sure your not breaking any laws The Sugar Traders Association of the United Kingdom (STAUK) was founded in 1952 by sugar trading companies based in London. Membership of the Association is limited to sugar trading companies which are resident in the UK and associations in the UK representative of sugar interests. The Association represents large and small sugar traders in the United Kingdom, whether domestic traders or international traders.
