The reality is, if you are not prepared to invest in yourself and your business, you will ultimately fail over and over again. I know this from experience. I tried many like the businesses listed above and ended up losing my shirt. Think for a moment, how much it would cost to start your own coffee cart in the hub of a large city. This is considered a small business. I'd say the costs will range from 10,000 - 150,000. That is just for start up. Now there are many opportunities to earn a living online. You can do freelance work, and get paid just like a job (by the hour). You can learn how to be an affiliate and sell other peoples products. You could sell on ebay. None of these will give you the income we all desire though. 90% of those entering internet marketing will quit within their first year. I've done it all, so I know how hard it is. I've been working online for just over 9 years and I've tried it all. I've failed many times on my way to success. But that's the road we all travel, as long as we learn along the way. If you are truly serious about starting your own business from home my best advice is to find a mentor. It really depends on what you want to do.

You should sit down and figure out what you're interested in -- you don't have to sell makeup or purposes. People have made money blogging or selling websites. Blogging or selling websites does not generally require much investment in terms of money (e.g., you can sign up on Blogger.com for free; to sell websites, you need to at least have your own website - iamawebhost.com).

There are lots of things that you can do - but, you need to figure out your own skill level and what you're intested in doing.

This is my first post on the site so hello everyone too
I've started my own telecommunications business through a company called ACN. It's been in Aus for about 4 years. I was skeptical about it at first and did my homework on it, read blogs about how it is a scam (pyramid scheme) etc. But you also read about how muchit has changed peoples lives. The ACCC took ACN to court but lost as it was not a pyramid scheme.. and I didn't think it would be seeing as its in 19 countries and endorsed by Donald J Trump! Anyway i've been doing it for about 3 weeks and will make back half the initial fee this month of 500 bucks so i should break even next month (only work on it 3 hours a week because of uni!) and all i do is sell phone plans, internet and fixed line to family and friends (no door knocking or telemarketing involved!) and introduce others to the business opportunity to do the same and i will make commission off their customers and their reps customers etc etc. I can honestly say I'm loving it and it's something to have a look at! Especially now because of brand new products that are coming into the market that only ACN has brung into Australia and the opening of the business into Asian countries (3.8 billion people, massive opportunity!) someone will knwo someone who will know someone that will know someone from asia then all of a sudden you have business in Asia! I love it!
