Hey everyone... well everyone knows eBay and PayPal pretty much suck due to the large number of fakes.

So I was thinking... couldn't we create an online marketplace... only for the sale of designer items... I'm an expert on spotting fakes for most brands, so there would be no problem with that.

The problem is... I do not have the capital to invest, nor do I have the web-building experience.

Any comments would greatly be appreciated on this idea.

And help to make it a reality would be appreciated even more.

if we got a big enough group together it could be done as we could split the capital but to get something decent done your looking at alot of money.

Approximately how much money?

I would think that we would only need one server to start correct?

Also, could I count on you to be in this group?

i reckon wed need a couple of thousand to get the right domain name, website design and to start advertising and yes id be part of it. Would be a nice project to be involved in.

Yes, If we could get just 10 people together, and have them invest $1,000.00 each... then we would be set... or 20 people at $500.00 each.

I could take care of the advertising, but where would we keep the server?

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to do that.

But if we stick to one topic, then we could call ourselves experts... which we are.

Also, Saajan... would you be interested in this project?

So thats three or four... assuming if Saajan is in or not.

So I think if we could get a few more people. and if we could all invest 500-1,000. Then we would have the necessary capital to begin the site.

I think you are under estimating the amount of start up capital, to give it a decent chance I would guestimate a figure of $50k and you wouldn't get very far even with that. The more people you have the more you pay in legal fees and large partnerships from people who don't already know each other rarely work i'm afraid.
