Why are credit cards not accepted at some restaurants or businesses?

becaus the stores have to pay a fee to the credit card companies, and some store owners don't wanna pay them.

Credit card companies charge a percentage to the retailer for accepting the card so, if you go to a restaurant and buy a meal for $10 the credit card company would only pay the restaurant $9.50 and the restaurant owner is not happy with that so they don't allow it and they don't loose 50 cents or what every currency you are working in.Other shops don't accept them because they work on tight margins and there is not enough profit to allow it.Some businesses don't like to allow credit cards because they have to declare the full sales to the revenue department and pay taxes on it. This is not good but it is reality.
