Are there any worthwhile alternatives to eBay out there? I tried a few a few years ago & really didn't get many sales, but I'm willing to give it another go with the changes to eBay's feedback system. I'd be interested to know if certain sites are better suited to certain goods for instance.

I have never used this sites, but a friend of mine suggested them to me. I think that sharing with others will be a big help. I know of Etsy to which you can sell some personal products, another is E-crater which is more similar to eBay.

Thankyou chocoguy. Etsy looks great, but not suitable for my business at the moment as it's specifically for handmade goods. I'll be bookmarking it to go spend some profits though!!

I like the look of ecrater & the fact that basic listings are free is definately interesting. Looking through quickly, most of the listings are US based though.

Perhaps there's a business opportunity waiting to be taken up there - a Australian based auction site!

I too would love an alternative for general online auctions (most competitors seem genre-specific). I used to use Yahoo! Auctions before it went defunct, but now eBay is raising their fees again!

I am really starting to get sick of ebay and there change of fees and feedback system. The only reason I am staying on because most if not all online shoppers go there to buy what they are after.
A good Aussie alternative is oztions.com.au - But again nowhere as big as ebay Australia

I was reading about the eBay boycott (which I am gladly participating in) and one of the articles mentioned two alternatives - onlineauction.com and eCrater (eCrater is actually completely free)! I hope these help.
