Default Anyone else experience problems with ebay?

I have worked in customer service and with people my entire life. I even had a restaurant & lounge where I dealt with people who were more than a little tipsy at times and have always found people to be nice, decent, and reasonable. I just started a nice little business on ebay (or so I thought) and am trying to find nice clothing for plus size women since I don't think there is enough to choose from. It was stressful from the very beginnning because people were so picky/mean! When something goes wrong, they can't just let you know, they write these brutal emails. As I was dealing with all this and feeling somewhat discouraged, my mother got diagnosed with lung cancer and actually died 4 days later. I was devastated and had to worry more about ebay than the funeral. Also, ebay has nothing in place to alert everyone that there is a crisis I had 600 auctions to worry about and hundreds of mean emails. Now I have all this neg. feedback and look like a big loser. What should I do?

I'd open a new account. That neg feedback will really hurt you. I'm sorry to hear about your mom's passing. Hang in there!

Ebay functions by having feedback. To get 100 % positive feedback, you must be very detail oriented and customer oriented. If you have a bunch of negative feedback, then start up a new user name and new store and try to be very attentive to your customers. Describe your items very accurately.Sorry about your loss.

Default Anyone else experience problems with ebay?

I have bought and sold a lot of things on ebay, and overall had good experiences. I wonder whether the problems you're having are actually coming from opposition sellers. I saw what I believe was something like that in the 'perfume' section one time. A new seller came in to that section, and all of a sudden they were getting a lot of negative feedback, and it just didn't seem genuine. If that is the case, I don't know if anything can really be done about it, as the people can probably hide what they are doing from ebay fairly easily. I would start another account, and stop using the one with the negative feedback. You might need to use another credit card to start another account, as if you use the same one, it will probably just show up as a change of name on your current account. Also, if the complaints people are making have some basis in fact, you need to fix whatever is going wrong in relation to that.Sorry to hear that your mother died. When you say that ebay has done nothing to alert everyone that there is a crisis, it's not their place to do that. They provide a place for people to buy and sell, but they don't involve themselves in people's personal lives. It's up to sellers to alert people if they want to do that. Anyway, try getting rid of that account and starting another one. Hope it works, and good luck with the business.

Patty sorry to hear about your loss. You know I hate people on ebay. They are so quick to send negs.I was in the hospital when my appendix burst.I had a 105 fever.I got six negatives.I had been on ebay for 5 years I had over 2200 positives and no negs to that point.I tried to explain to these people as well as to give them free shipping to make up for their aggravation.Well some of these nasties waited till they got their items and still left negs. The best thing to do is contact ebay and let them know and follow up their negative comment in the feedback section with your explanation as to what happened. This way people will see why you received a negative.Explain you had a death in family and then something sarcastic like thanks for the compassion, lol.Good luck.

What email service do you use? Most have the ability to send an automated response to anyone that emails you, when you are unable to respond yourself. In any case, I think creating a new account is dishonest, but that's up to you. Have you tried settling the disputes through eBay itself? If the buyer agrees to remove the negative feedback, your account will reflect that and the negative feedback goes away.I'm sorry for your loss. I'm sure you're still dealing with a great many issues and day to day details that have had to be handled since your mother's passing, but I would recommend you take some time and try to clear up your current account. Best of luck!
