Default buying bulk vs drop shipping on ebay

I tried drop shipping on ebay but it didnt really work out for me, so im going to start buying bulk using Chinese imports instead so i can sell what ever i want to sell as opposed to selling only what i could.
Whats your opinions on drop shipping vs buying bulk?

I agree with you. i tried drop shipping but theres too many people selling the same thing as you are so there is heaps of competition. and people can be very picky, for instance i treid selling a boxing bag but people kept asking if i can sell boxing bags filled with sand instead.
you never get what you want with drop shipping in my opinion.

I whole heartedly disagree with the both of you. when i was drop shipping i was making around 300-400 a week just by sitting on the computer. The drop shipping business can take a bit of getting used to but once you do its well worth your while.

When i was drop shipping, when i really got into it that is i was easily making a THOUSAND dollars a week just by sitting on the computer! the trick is to make sure your prices are cheap, and you only make around 10 dollars off each sale. if you have around 10 listings a day you can make a fair bit of money.

That seems to be the best idea to choose bulk buying rather than drop shipping. I have seen many selling the same product online rather than having something unique. Can we get good chinese products online in bulk?

Here you go: www.alibaba.com
you type in what you want and it has a list of manufacturers from all over the world, then you email em with a sentence or two asking for price margins and shipping etc.

The question of weather to buy wholesale and then resell yourself or dropship instead is one that is often asked.
Firstly it depends on your financial situation. If you have alot of funding it would be advisable to buy in wholesale and resell yourself, by operating under these terms it will bring about alot more profit for yourself (although you must weigh up the costs and time involved). Where as if you have no initial funding dropshipping is for you.

Buy in bulk.

Don't dropship, be the dropshipper!

We sell on eBay ourselves and have a couple of regular online resellers (not on eBay) who make about $2000/week just dropshipping our products.

That way, we hit the majority of the online market.

You don't need a fortune to start.
Our first container load cost us $12k and it grew exponentially from there.
If you rely on dropship suppliers, you will never be in control and your growth will be limited.

If you control the products, you have the power and can manipulate the market.

Good luck
