Default Is EBay finished?

I have put lots of things up for sale that used to sell easily and they're on the site for cheap money too BUT not one bid was forthcoming! I think the site is going down the pan

or you overpriced your items, or outdated product, ....to be honest ... a lot of buyers are a bit scared to go EBAY simply cause they prefer to deal with local EBAY similar... it sounds more secure and ppl have more confidence....my advise to go and join local EBay similar in your area...

no...it's the world's biggest & most popular selling place - maybe your goods for sale were not what people wanted?

Maybe what you're selling isn't what people are wanting at that particular time, or maybe there are similar items for sale but abit cheaper

I have had the same experience , its definatly something to do with the UK site. I have the same items up on the UK site and the American site - the american ones sell for decent money , whereas your lucky to get a bid on the UK site.I think Ebay are mucking about to much with the feedback rules , Payapl payment charges etc.

maybe your prices were too high or your postage?? people know the price of posting things nowadays and also the cost of packaging materials, no one will pay £10 standard seller rate for postage when they know full well the item would cost £2.50

either the market has dropped out of old tat or there has a been the biggest drop in consumer confidence ever knownAlso the arrival of automated bartering tools i think have pretty much ruined the experience. Like John Major experienced whilst in government during Black Monday when in power. You cant beat the machines, its foolish to try. eBay for many was a fastest fingers first competition. Now its a case of who writes the best software. Besides putting second-hand tat in its rightful place, back at the jumble sale, serves local charities, and redistributes the wealth on day trips to scarborough, which puts us all a bit closer to heaven

As has been said, are you sure you have not overpriced your item(s), or of course there may not be a demand for what you are selling. There is also another thing to consider. How much are you charging for P&P?I find many items are up for sale on Ebay but although the cost of the actual item is relatively cheap, a lot of sellers charge way over the odds for postage. For example, a while back I could have bought a single DVD for £1 but the seller wanted £10 to post it to me by ordinary 1st Class post.Needless to say, I did not buy the item. In fact no one did. When I bid for an item on Ebay I always take into account the cost of buying that item together with the P&P.Strange as it may seem I have also seen items sold at twice the price that item could be bought new in a shop.Poseidon

I'm afraid you're right. I could see it coming. Ebay hasn't been the best place to shop or participate on the seller's end lately. In fact it's been like that for a couple of years on and off. Right now is the off time but I would expect for things to get a little better around July. Things usually get better overall with the consumer markets towards the end of the year. Keep in mind there's also the debate as to whether or not we are in a recession too. If that be the case, Ebay shouldn't be doing very well. Who wants to shop when the value of the dollar isn't worth much and consumers have to stretch what little bit we have for necessities?
