For what they cost, eBay shops are well worth the money. You can get one for as low as $12 a month. Even if you don't use it to list items, it gives potential customers an easy way to navigate through your listings. Which in time should help you to get multiple purchases.

Extremely worthwhile, support them with non shop listings that direct to your shop and help your cause that way. A very easy way to build a net presence and start selling with the minimum of effort and the benefit of a huge user base.

No auctions I'm afraid. The listings don't show up in the 'normal' eBay searches, people will need to specifically look through your listings or use the advanced search feature to search shop listings. If eBay were to allow auctions via shop listings there probably wouldn't be enough exposure and therefore your items would finish at a very low price.

To those contemplating opening a store, I suggest you to do so right away. For what it costs, it seems strange not to take advantage of it.

Never had an ebay shop. I am a newbie for ebay and so it might take a little while before I can check out everything and work out.
