Default Ebay Trading Basics

Hi Everyone,

I'm sure this has been covered in various forms but I would like some up to date opinions.

What would people say are the most important factors when starting an EBay business? I am aware of the importance of choosing a suitable product, sourcing stock etc; what I am referring to is the smaller things like registering as a company, keeping organised and ways of achieving a professional perception etc.

Thanks in advance for any help

1: source at the right price / quality.

2: photographs / description

3 Customer service

that's the order too, there's so many buyers on ebay you don't need to rely on repeat custom.

ummm...............................

Repeat custom is the best there is, the customer knows you and your product already and knows they can trust you so they come looking to you instead of someone else. Why waste the effort of getting the customer and then not getting them to repeat buy??

I appreciate what you are saying about the volume of traffic (ie. potential customers) but to ignore the potential that a repeat customer has is suicide to any business, I also realise that attracting new customers is key but IMO locking them into your business is a priority. This way the customers come looking for you not the other way round.

I'd be inclined to agree with the importance of customer service. Regardless of whether they repeat their custom or not, you dont want negative feedback for all to see.

Agree 100% with Jillian90.

We have gone from nothing to 2 million (not all ebay) in turnover using that strategy when starting on eBay 2.5 years ago.

Now we use the same strategy with our website too.

Good Luck
