Fake Ebay Items

Hi Guys,
Can anything actually be done about this? I mean we all know theres loads of fake stuff on ebay. I've looked at clothing items, dvd box sets and noticed in all the sellers feedback you always get a few customers who report it as a fake and in my opinion there probably not wrong from the price the item sold at. Can we not report all those users (helps eliminate competition and also will ebay actually do anything if you do report them?

Hello Mike,
If a seller is claiming an item is original and you have good information that it is not, than that is grounds for there account to be suspended, but the age old problem is proving that the item is not original. Without having the item in front of you it makes it hard.

Yeah David, proving a product to be not original is one difficult thing to be considered. It is hard to find out such products in order to report a fake person. Being a seller it is hard to convince myself to sell something fake to the customers, guess people shouldn't lose there individuality.

Hi there, I like everyone else see heaps of fakes on ebay...it is rampant.
I sell authentic items on Ebay, and have to compete against 100's of fakes, in the same class, same brand etc. I used to report them to ebay, but found I was spending most of my day doing this and to be frank, Ebay never really did anything about it...sure they removed a few of the offending listings, but not too many...you see, they get paid on completed auctions as well....

I have also had listings removed myself by VERO, only to be able to demonstrate to them that the item is genuine, had the listing reinstated, but then the buyers are spooked...

I have given up on trying to do anything about the fakes...there are too many, and too little is done.

My advice is find a seller that you are comfortable with, buy from them, and then ask them for specific items, they are probably able and willing to source products for you if you are a good customer!
