how do i retreive an old internet password?

I recently sold tickets on eBay and for reasons unknown to me, my old email address was used by the purchaser. The old email address has not been used for 4 years. Can anyone tell me how I can access this old email address as I can't remember the password? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Depends who it is with!!Say for example, Hotmail. You can ue their account services to go through the security questions and try to reset it.But all email providers and ISP's have their own system.If it was with an actually ISP you would probably have to phone their support centre for help.
