Default Scam?

I've just bought something off ebay and when I've come to pay him he wants me to pay directly into his bank. He's given me his bank name, sort code, account number, account reference and account name.

He's got a feedback of 0 aswell.

Sorry if it's a dumb question, I only use paypal usually.

There's nothing to guarantee this is a scam, nor is there anything to say it will go through smoothly.

However, the fact that they have 0 feedback and now want you to pay via Bank Transfer (unsafe payment method) would make me very cautious of dealing with them.

I would ask to cancel the purchase and buy from a seller with a better record.

What is the value of the purchase? is it local, can it be collected? If unsure then simply cancel transaction, as advised above...

it's only $60 dollars but then again I don't really want to throw away 60 bucks and no I can't pick it up so I think I'll just cancel..

Just cancel, you'll only wish you had once your $60 out of pocket!

Of course, it could go well, but weighing up the negatives against the positives would force me personally to cancel.

Cancel the lot and move on. Bank transfers can be a little bit of a risk, however they can be another good way to do business with trusted sellers if its for a larger sum of money than 60 bucks.

Is there a way to cancel an order on ebay or just mutual understanding. I think you may get a unpaid strike or negative feedback if the seller does not agree. Correct me if i am wrong?

If he is AUS based then pay it. If his listings dont advertise paypal then you will have to pay (according to ebay laws) , if there new to ebay they may not have a paypal account set up, afterall paypal can be a bit of a pain.

Whats the link for the item in question?
