Default What makes a website a business?

For example do I need to go through the hassle of regestering with the government for a website that generates income by advertising. OR for selling items on ebay. Can I do business under my own name to avoid turning my website into a business?

The expression "generates income" is what makes it a business. It doesn't matter if it's from selling products or services or information or advertising ... generating income becomes legal and is defined as business. The bad news is that you need to report the income. The good news is that you need to report the income. By making your website (aka business) legitimate you can also claim tax credits on website hosting, cell phone, internet provider, marketing efforts, housing and utility ratio to space, education, business travel, seminars, supplies, salaries, etc. Why pay expenses out of pocket???

Hi,In my opinion, the best kind of home business is one where you don't have to invest any money. I wasted thousands of dollars buying into all kinds of home businesses including MLM and Internet franchises.I was about to give up when I found a website that finally gave me the businesses I was looking for. The company is called Keep Clicking. Basicially, they have a big list of companies that have products. They allow me to promote these products/services and I receive a set fee for each product that I sell (or lead that I generate). I didn't pay any money to join (They actually pay you $10 to join, but only give it to you when you get $50 in your account. It took me a month, so I got the $10 then). This allows me to have a full business with no inventory. The best part is, a lot of these offers are free trials, so I get people to sign up for about $4 (for shipping), an I get about $17! It doesn't matter if people cancel there subscriptions, I still get paid anyway. I get paid monthly by check. Here's the link:http://www.keep-clicking-biz.infoGood Luck!

In Australia you can sell on eBay or other auction sites without having to declare it as a business it can be classed as a hobby but you may still have to declare any income at tax time. The same applies for a monetized website.

This site will give you all the info you need to know about starting a business ".business.gov.au/Business+Entry+Point/Business+Topics/Online+business/"

you will only need a website if you want to help promote your business, if you just want to sell on ebay then no you don't 'need' a website

investing or not-investing, those are still risks that we need to take. By taking risks we will prosper and learn new things.

Difference:
Invest - you risk your money and you become anxious.
Non-invest - you risk your time, your name, and your happiness or even your dreams.

Those two are all risky and we should take it. That's what we call reality of life.
For those people who don't know how to risk or sacrifice, they will never learn; experience is really the best teacher.
