Default What is a typical day for a fulltime eBay Seller

Hi,

I'm a bit curious as to how our successful full time eBay sellers spend their working day. How do you usually put your daily schedule in order? How do you structure your day? And do you usually have more time to finish what you have to do?

Cheers

Hi,

eBay is a part of our business (started on eBay) so I feel qualified to answer here.

About 9:00am start.
First thing is to check emails for sold items and print them out.
Then answer any questions relating to listings.
Then check bank deposit payments and paypal payments.
Then check messages for sold items confirming delivery details.
Then print out courier con notes for despatching items.
Then ack items and load up a few pallets for despatch.
Courier comes by at about 4:30pm to pick up.

That's it for eBay, listings automatically repeat themselves so no need to spend time listing.

Throughout the day, we also take orders directly and through our own website.

It takes about 1/2 day to do all eBay related work.
Currently selling about $45k/month on eBay, but will probably cut this down to generate more sales off eBay. Now eBay is only about 1/4 of our sales since we started 2 1/2 years ago.

Good Luck

Hi David,

We sell under the gategory of sporting goods, don't really want to give my username just yet.

What category do you sell in?

Ammulu, out sales on eBay is $45k/month, not profit. Profit is more like $18k after all fees. I don't know how to help you.
I started from home and stored all items in my garage, and the courier came to pick up from my home. Now I operate from a warehouse and we are still using the same couier service.

Why can't you go out for courier/post ?

Maybe developing a website will be better for you so you don't need to pay fees and worry about bad feedback, then you can do dropship sales from there with a much lower transaction cost.

Good Luck

I’m glad that someone else asks this question. I thought of asking it myself. It’s good to know that there are lots of people here who are willing to help.

That is a pretty good amount you are making from home BlackSpider. Thanks for the reply. The only reason I was thinking because I am residing out of my country for few months or might be extended to an year now and things to be sold are in my home country and none can really do the courier or postal part so I wish to check out products for drop shipping. Please suggest some good online sites which provide products and drop ship too.
