How to tell if a company that is advertised online or tv is a scam?
Aside from checking out the better business site, is there another site that can let you know if the company or business is a scam?

How to tell if a company that is advertised online or tv is a scam?
As you mentioned, you can check out www.bbb.org. You can also do an internet search for the name of the company and the word "scam" or "ripoff" or similar term. That will most likely produce a lot of the negative stories about that company, and you can base your decision on some of the information that you turn up.What type of company is it? Are they selling a product or a service, or are they advertising a job or "work from home opportunity"? Is it a local company or is it nationwide? The answers to these questions may help to point you in the right direction for other sources to look at.
