Default Making the Most of YouTube

Following on from the MySpace discussion, it's been said that YouTube is a good advertising medium. Would those who have experience of it please post their experiences and tips? I would be helpful if you could say what sort of businesses you were promoting on there too.

Many thanks,
Green-Moo

I have not done it yet but many of my colleagues have done it and it has proved quite successful for them.
The bonus with this media too is that it will boost your SEO if you look at google any web2.0 video will have a higher ranking

I haven’t done it but some of my friends have. I think that you can use the site by creating a video about your business and then upload it to youtube. I guess you can promote almost all business with that site, provided that you have a video of your business.

Thanks for that tip. It's an added bonus I wasn't aware of.

What I don't understand about advertising on YouTube is why anyone would be interested in watching your ad! That might sound obvious, but let's say you had a business washing windows. Why would anyone want to watch your ad? Unless it showed you falling off a ladder or something, which wouldn't do allot for your business reputation, I just don't see what would be interesting about it! As far as I can see, you search via various categories to find clips which might be of interest and the clips which attract most interest get higher rated. You could post a link to your video places, but it's not like other advertising where people are forced to watch it. I don't understand!

I agree, YouTube is anew advertising tool that businesses should use. There is more exposure in YouTube, I actually put up a how-to video in YouTube and embedded it on my site. You can see it at http://www.brochurepens.com.au. I just installed the video on the left navigation so people can watch it easily.

Is there any way that people tend to make money from YouTube for the views per video uploaded?? I heard of meta cafe which pays for the pageviews per video.
