Does anyone here belong to any 'real life' networking groups (ie not online)? I used to be point of contact for Chamber of Commerce type events for my previous employer and am wondering about looking into something for myself.

I have never heard on them before. I wonder how you would go about finding one in your area? I think it would be a great thing to participate in.

Unfortunately, another writer thought of joining the Chamber of Commerce before I did, so she's got all of their business sewn up!

About the extent of my real world networking is telling current clients that I'd be glad to help out any of their friends who have writing needs. That usually generates a few good leads and often some out-and-out business.
