Question Payment on a website!!

Hey all,
I'm creating my own website right now and I got a question on the payment I should accept.
I may accept payments via Paypal but thats not really the best solution. First, I would need to pay fees for each sale and then also I'm not sure that all the customers would like to pay via Paypal, so it isn't really the best solution.
So I'm looking at some alternatives, and I think the best solution would be to accept payments via Credit Card!! (any other method of payments??)
Unfortunately, I've checked and it costs around $200 a month
Thats really expensive!! Does anyone know a company which offer the same service but cheaper or a low fee per transaction??
Thanks

Default Payments

Just do a google search for merchant account providers, just be mindfull of wether or not you are likely to be accepting payment from other countries as this will certainly be a factor in the price etc.
And who wouldn't be accepting payments from other countries? This is the internet,go global don't just be looking to sell to other aussies...please!
It's a big big world out there!

I think that nothing can replace Paypal. It is the most widely accepted form of Payment on the internet. I can’t think of a better suggestion.

I had this exact issue on my business directory not long ago. I had an online cart that I built myself with 128bit security and a paypal option. Funny thing was about 98% of the people used the paypal option to make payment.

This is not to say that online carts are no good, it's just in my case people preferred paying by Paypal.

I understand guys, nearly all my sales are with paypal. I would stick with them if I was to choose one payment option.

Paypal is probably the best option now they own VeriSign... Accepting CC payments couldnt be easier. Low fees also compared to some payment gateways.

Hi,
I am with PayPal as well, the charge way less the Westpac Business (example) and integration is seamless, highly trusted Merchant, accepts credit cards without buyer having PayPal account. Go for it.

Paypal is not bad as a payment method.

I just checked my account the other day and the fees were $500 for $31,000 in payments for a month, so that is 1.6%.

Not bad when everything is processed automatically.

Good luck.
