Search engine optimization is really simple but some times it becomes complicated when you fail to avoid the wrong steps that you can commit along the way. This is where all the complications come in. As much as possible avoid these don'ts of search engine optimization so that you can go through with it with ease.

Here are some of the things that you should not do.

1. Do not confuse the search engines with the use of frames. As much as possible avoid frameset sites. These frames will shun away the search engine spiders to find your web site.

2. Do not be fooled with the beauty of flash. Of course, flash would look good on your web site. On the other hand, it can be the cause of slow download for your site. It would not affect search engine spiders really but then how would you expect readers to check your site every once in a while if your web site lacks readability.

3. Do not hold back with the use of title tags on your page. Instead of using About the Company, why not try thinking of title tags that would specifically mention the industry that you are in.

4. Do not swarm the title tags with characters. You can use up to 70 characters on your title tags but be sure that the important keywords are strategically located on the title tags. This is one way of maximizing the use of keywords on your web site.

5. Do not drown the site with unnatural use of keywords. Of course, to be indexed by these search engines, you need to maintain the keyword density of your content. But if the flow of the information is becoming unnatural with the repetition of these keywords then you might be doing something wrong. Your priority is the quality of the information. You just can't let that be sacrificed just to reach your target keyword density.
