Unusual idea

I bought a box of cakes yesterday, & printed on the inside of the bottom of the box so that it was visable when I took the cakes out was an advert for another business in town. I was so suprised to see something printed there that I read it.

It's not going to work for every business, but an interesting idea nonetheless.

Advertising like that always seems to catch people eyes, and it is often very affective.

I enjoy spotting examples of unusual advertising. When I ran a recruitment business arranging the advertising for temporary staff was one of my favourite tasks. Where are our target 'temps' going to be hanging out & how can we get our name infront of them for free? Anything beat the local paper or hanging around handing out flyers!

That is a unique idea. What was the advert for? Hopefully not the competition. I think that is a great idea though.

The ad was for a local tourist spot. There were a few paragraphs about the local area inside the top of the lid too. I imagine the idea will work in this case, as tourists will call into the bakery to pick up some lunch.

That is a really good idea to have more of a tourist type ad on the box. I have not seen this type of advertising as of yet around me.

I like the concept of unexpected advertising. When I was first starting out as a freelance writer, I used to go to the library and slip a copy of my brochure into all the books about business writing and advertising. I actually got a few jobs out of it!

That is a great technique for advertising. I’m thinking of doing it myself, but I don’t know how to do it on the internet. I wonder if that would work on everybody.
