what is the best way for a new start business to find clients?

I just moved down to sydney from melbourne. so I dont have any connections in Sydney. In my situation, what is the best way for me to find clients. BTW, my business is doing website design, graphic (brochure, business card) design & printing.

Being a Web Design and graphic company your strongest form of advertising should be on the net.

Make sure your SEO is top notch, and you are getting first page results from your keywords.

Once you have that done, you should use google adwords to further your campaign.

I completely agree with 3323.
It doesn't matter where you live. The specific feature of your business is the possibility to sell your services online via net. And your clients can live even in another country.
So, I think that you should start with advertising your site.
You already have a good web-site. Now use google adwords, special sites where you can submit press-release, add your site to listing directories, buy banner advertisement and so on. And of course working on site content!
