Hi guys, i just wanted to ask what would be the final price of importing goods from say, a country like China to Australia after all shipping costs, tariffs and such are applied. is there a site that would have a list for these things?

P.S if its a need to know basis lets assume i want to sell consoles, or laptops etc. say a console would cost 400 dollars to buy.

Lots of things need to be taken into consideration to work out costs.
1.Quantities-Are you importing fcl(full container loads) or say a crate load.obviously the more you import the less it will cost you for freight.

2.The Value- You are charged customs duty on the dollar value of the goods purchased from that Country i.e China.

3. Transport costs- You are charged/taxed on transport costs & Insurance costs to bring the goods to Australia

Here is an example of costs:

Customs Value(what you paid)-$20,000

Customs Duty=5%x$20,000 -$1000.00

T&I (transport & Insurance) -$2000.00

VoTi (Customs Value/Duty + Transport/Ins.) - $23,000

GST= 10% of VoTi $2300

Total Payable (Duty + GST) $3300
