I am interested in opening a clothing boutique in NC I am wanting to do this by next summer 2009 but have no idea where to start. please tell me what i need to do i don't have bad credit but also don't have much established how will that effect me and where should i get a loan and how does the loan process work also not sure about permits and etc in NC. any information will be helpful. I have found a company to buy wholesale clothes shoes and accessories from but now i need help with the legistics such as permits finding a location real estate loans etc... 10 pts best answer

Rather than doing all the leg work yourself, you may want to look deep into your personal and professional network and find out if you know of someone that has either started a similar business or any business in general. Offer to take them out for lunch and pick their brains (i.e. have a list of questions you think they may know how to tackle). I did that throughout the start-up phase of my business and the advice I received was priceless versus the cost of lunch.

Write up a GOOD business plan and lending institutions will take you seriously. Write up a bad one and "NO" will become a word you will hear too much of. Take the time and very carefully write your business plan as if your life depended on it. You should write up a business plan first.Then incorporate with the NC Secretary of State.Get your business banking accounts set upThen go to a bank to see about a small business loan with your business plan.
