Default Why do you all want electrical items?

My first impressions of these forums is that everyone seems to be looking for suppliers of brand electrical goods i.e., mobile phones, game consoles, lcd tv?s, ipods etc.. The wanted forum seems to be full!!

I believe these products are what people first look for when they want to buy wholesale and sell, Personally I could think of a quite a few reasons why I stay away from electrical goods.

-Faulty products / returns - Could you afford to take a $2000 loss on a LCD TV?

-Competition ? There is such a price war with electrical goods, there hardly seems to be much profit in my view, at least big company?s like Pc World, Dixons can provide a customer service.

-Discontinued items ? About three months ago I brought a camcorder for $600 it is now worth no more than $200 because it has became discontinued.

-Profit margins ? Is there much profit to be even made??

My advice would be to look at unbranded high value goods, I know of quite a few people who import items from china such as quad bikes, kitchen and bathroom fittings, clothing, garden furniture etc?

All these items have a lot less competition and much higher profit margins and don?t become discontinued within a few weeks.

There is money in electrical goods?. But there are easier / less competitive markets.

hmm..

Most young people who are starting out have a good knowledge in that area so i suppose that is one reason.

Like i could build pc's from the age of about 12 so i bought a load of graphics cards and processors a while back bacause its what i had good understanding of. Sold them locally and made a fair bit.

Its what people have an interest in.

my tip is to stay away from FAKES as seeing some of your other posts this isn't a problem for you to deal in!

You will find, if you last on this forum, that we don't want people who deal/sell fakes!!

Pardon... where did i say i deal in FAKES ?, I only gave my opionion that 99% of the population wears fake nike trainers and i really could not see it being profitable trying to sell originals, i did not mean u should sell fakes, i would just stay away from nike trainers all together... also your website config file looks like its in trouble.

I agree with you, from what I've seen of the forum so far (don't come here too often though so I might be wrong!) everyone is after iPods, mobile phones etc.

I find that on such items, the profit margins are very tight, and you can rarely make a good profit as it is easy to get a guide market price which every buyer will know.

As said above , it is much better to import items which don't have a set market price which everyone is aware of - bikes and kitchen fittings being a good example and other items such as MP4 players - although widely sold - changing the usually cheap packaging and design and making your own changes to it so you have more room for profit.

Selling electrical goods may have tight margins but if you have a good source and able to match or beat other sellers prices then it can be worth while. It seems that the key to selling online is being able to sell in quantity as fast as possible not making a killing off a few units. Electrical goods appeal to most people because they sell fast and I think people like the idea of selling iPods (all the most wanted items). If anyone can stick at it good on them!

Electrical items are indeed high in demand but I would love to see you posting sale leads a little more often, you said yourself you don't visit much

Electrical is seen as a quick profit maker, people still think they can get a PS3 wholesale for $200 if they buy 10 units (hence why the scammers are still in business)

People want the short route to money, which is no bad thing but they have to understand that there is a need to research thoroughly and not simply rely on the Internet. So many people miss opportunities by limiting themselves to Internet wholesalers only.
