If you are referring to an email list, then yes I would recommend it.
Simply becuse you have an email list targeted directly to your market, these people are most likely to respond to your advertising.

What business are you in? Email lists or business lists are crucial nowadays...I myself can attest to that. My company generates most of its leads from our mailing lists...very highly targeted list. It's great for email marketing and telemarketing or direct mail campaigns. When you have a very good list, you get very good responses as well.
