I want my customers to be able to enter birthdays, anniversary dates, etc. so I can email them a reminder two weeks in advance so they can hopefully purchase a gift on my site. How can I do that?

I know this doesn't quite answer your question regarding birthdays etc, but one place you can start selling your jewelry is Etsy.com. Check it out, i have bought alot of jewelry from people on there myself. It could be a good way to kick off and develop a good reputation and maybe some regular customers, before you get to setting up your own website, etc.Good luck!
