Default My credit card payment is due on Sunday...how am I expected to pay when the bank is closed?

OK, that's not my REAL question, but, I was going to pay today, but they said if it's after 2 PM, it won't be processed until the next business day, which is Monday. Is the bank going to penalize me when it's not exactly my fault they're not open Sunday, yet my payment is due that day? I've already set up the payment online, but it says it won't process until Monday morning, which is past the due date of the payment. My bank is Fifth Third. Thanks.

It is your fault that you didn't plan ahead, though. You could have posted your payment yesterday, or even earlier today.

Next time send it by money gram or western union.. It will post the same time you send it.. It cost more to do it that way... But at least its less money then what your credit card is going to charge you for your late payment fee... You can send money grams and western unions payments at Most Wal Marts at their customer service desk... God bless you !

You can call and ask them to waive the pay fee. If you set it up online, they should have a record, so call on Monday, tell them you are sorry you didn't make the payment earlier (don't blame them, people are nice when you play nice), but that you attempted to make it on time. Normally, a bank will see you made the attempt to pay on time and waive the fee. If not, sorry, and make a note on the calendar to make sure you pay that bill a few days early.

Yes. You have to either pay by 2 p.m. on the last day that the are open (Saturday or Friday) unless you set it up well in advance to be paid online on Sunday (too late now to do that).

Normally, when the due date is Sunday, you will not pay penalty if you pay by Monday and this is - oretty much - universal with all credit cards and mortgages too

Payment is due not later than -- that means you should have arranged payment on Friday. Your payment will be considered late on Monday.
