I am new regarding SEO, I've been searching the web for competitive SEO techniques, some of which combines submission of websites to different social bookmarking sites, using blogs and forums to promote the site, my question is,what will be the consequence if I submitted more than to the expected number of my site to different bookmarking sites or yellow pages in just 1 day? Will my site be blacklisted, because search engine will consider it as spam? I need your input...thanks

Not at all. As long as you don't place more than 100 links per day, you will be just fine.

The two answers above are not correct. There is no information available as to how many links you can add to your website in a given day. However, adding too many keyword targeted links in a very short period of time can have the reverse affect that you were looking for. BTW, too many links would be many hundreds or even thousands of links with search phrases in the link text.Google will index all of your inbound links on different days/times and really does not know how many links you add on a daily basis. If what you fear was considered spam, there would be no websites worth visiting in the Google index.

There isnt a minimum or maximum number of links that google reccomends, most of this is guesswork or based on experience of individual SEO's. However, a large number of bokmarking sites arent that visible to Google, nor will they all come through on the same day. Add you links where you see fit, and where you think they are of value - dont just add them wherever you can. As long as your link building technique is ethical by google standards, you should be fine.

First, think about a webpage which has a press release. How many websites do you think link to that story? Probably a few thousand. Google will not consider this spam. Second, just because a link is on a site doesn't mean that the serps will crawl that site. If the site is only crawled once a month it could be another month before that link is picked up. There is no "set" number of links you can get in one day. Avoid paid links, and recipricals until you have quality backlinks.
