Default Finding a Niche...

Can anyone give me any ideas on how to find high demand products with lower competition.

As a new trader i know it is hard to deal in saturated markets and not worth it as profit margins are very low.

So i want to find a niche that will provide steady profit (does not need to be high just durable).

Any Ideas?

You gotta know that we're all searching for that particular "Eldorada" - some have found it and will do everything to hold onto it (that includes keeping it to yourself!!!), others will continue to search forever and a day!

Good luck!

A niche is good, but may not be necessary.

You can break in to any market if you buy well and get some good, extensive product knowledge. Once you build a reputation in a certain category, then you will see much better results.

Good Luck

Thats right Blackspider,
However it is often harder and requires more capital to start up a business in a already flooded market.

Maybe we should distinguish about this point between a niche market (meaning an underserviced product line or service) and niche marketing - finding keywords or phrases where a site can dominate the natural results?

Yes, it would not be advisable to try and compete in an already flooded market. And elven has a good point about Niche marketing.

My only advice to find your product is to do market research.

The way I started on eBay was to search all the completed listings and prices paid. When I found out I could make at least 100% margins on certain items, I took the risk and bought a container load for $12k and it just worked from there. Suprisingly, we achieved 200-300% markups for a good 3-4 months before the rest of the sellers caught up. In the meantime we were also moving into a different range and are now specialised in the new range and margins have remained steady at about 100% markups over a couple of years.

Good luck finding your product.

I did the same thing BlackSpider. "search all the completed listings and prices paid. When I found out I could make at least 100% margins on certain items". I started off a bit smaller than containers but am working towards it. Regards AWB
