I am trying to sell a Southwest Rapid Reward voucher on Craigslist and someone has asked me to do the following:"Please send a "request money" invoice via Paypal to my account: xxx@yahoo.com (Click request tab at top of Paypal main screen). I will reply with payment.Please include in the Paypal request text box: 1. Name 2. Phone Number(s) – cell, work, home, etc. 3. Best time(s) to reach you. 4. Ticket Expiration Date(s)5. Payment by PAYPAL . "It appears to be a small business and I am unfamiliar with this “request money” process within Paypal. Is this commonly used to scam people? Can I do anything to protect myself? Or should I not even bother following up with this potential buyer as it is clearly a scam?

Paypal is a relatively secure way to make a payment. As long as they're not asking for a user name, password, account number, etc, you should be ok.
