I'm looking into purchasing an item off eBay... it says in the description of the item that the seller uses Paypal only. However, under the method it says "Visa/Mastercard". Does this still count as Paypal, or is this something completely different?? Thanks!

Hi. When you register with PayPay you have to give them your credit card info. Then when you pay for an item you click to pay via PayPal. Using PayPal to pay really makes it easier and if something goes wrong your PayPal account can be credited.. Sometime I have used "Ask Seller A Question" feature to inquire if the seller would take money order or cash. 80% said yes. In my experience PayPal Only sellers are suspect. If you want to sell why not make it easy for the customer? Be sure to check their history and complaints.

If you have paypal, people can pay you with other major credit cards also, one of the benefits of having a paypal account.I use paypal whenever I can because no one gets to see any of my account numbers, just my email address which is my paypal id.When I started buying and selling through ebay in 2002, I accepted most any sort of payment. I found far less than 5% of my sales were paying outside of paypal. And those payments required much more work, time, bookkeeping, and attention. So I modified my ads to paypal only and said in the ads that any other type of payment is more work for all involved. I lost a few buyers but the average transaction became quicker and effortless to keep track of.Few things are cooler than getting a paypal email a few minutes after one of my auctions closes from a buyer saying I have cash. At that moment, I can transfer that money to my bank or take my paypal atm/mastercard out to my favorite bar and drink it. One more, paypal balances earn between 3% & 5% depending on the going rate.
