ebay / paypal question?

I just made my first ebay purchase using paypal. I sent the payment on the May 6th.. its now may 10th, and ebay still has it listed as PENDING... i went to my paypal, and paypal has it listed as UNCLEARED. I checked my bank account, and the money has been taken out - May 6th.What is going on? Is this normal? The only other stuff i have gotten on ebay, I just used my debit card (no paypal) and its been sent immediately.. paypal is not looking very convienient to me... Am i being paranoid? Should I email the seller? I don't wanna look like an idiot (because i don't know how this paypal thing works...)I didn't have a balance IN my paypal account, the money was taken out of my bank account when I purchased my ebay stuff with my paypal account... ?okay... so if i used echeck.. what should i expect now? 7-14 days to process? ? ?

It takes a couple of days for a transfer from your bank to PayPal to clear. If you have a balance in your PayPal account, it clears almost instantly.

I was involved in a similar situation recently and it is likely that the company or individual who you purchased from is taking longer than you would appreciate to process the transaction. Before you go after paypal, e-mail the seller, especially if it is a business and ask for information regarding your purchase. Hope that helps

Couple of things you want to make sure that your shipping address matches your credit card mailing address on file with the card issuer. Also Did you verify your card as paypal asked you to do so when you add the card on file.If not that could also take 3-7 business days before they make the payment clear.One more thing if you payed with e-check on paypal it could take 7-14 business days.What i will do, is go to send paypal and shoot an email at the following link. orClick on service center and it will ask you to login and will give you a pin # and the phone # to call.Good Luck

It's because you paid using the 'echeck' feature.

Yes, if you used the echeck function it can take up to two weeks to process. Sellers will hold the item until payment has cleared for them. If you have a debit card (The one directly connected with your bank funds) that has a visa/mastercard logo on it, add it as your primary payment method. It is coming from the same place and is much much faster. There is a way you can instantly transfer funds from your bank account to your paypal which is then transferred to their paypal account, but I believe you need to go through the verification process first, which may take a few days. This is the method I use to pay, but I can not remember exactly what I did to use it this way without "Echeck"
