I want to sell something on ebay, how does the personal check payment method work?

i'd like to know what would happen basically. will i recieve a letter with a check inside which i can take to my bank and ask them to cash it? im clueless btw, spare no details

First of all you are required to have a paypal account to sell on Ebay now. If you do actually want to accept personal checks (and I do not advise it) then you would receive it in the mail and you should wait a few days and check with your bank to confirm that the check cleared and didn't bounce before mailing the item. Make sure you notify the buyers that you wait for the check to clear before mailing the item.
