Default PayPal payment oops?? Help!!?

I just paid for an eBay item using PayPal for the first time EVER. A bank account that's rarely used was put as my primary payment method, a credit card as my secondary. Being new to Paypal, I just hit the "Pay" button and it said payment has been sent, from the bank account, when i meant to pay with card! I have a strong feeling the bank account in question is either very low or out of money. I already explained to the seller that I am a first timer so things may be slow, and he greatfully understood, but it took 2 days from the sale date before I managed to find the time to learn how to use PayPal properly. So far that means I am 2 days behind schedule. And I know it will take a few days for the banks and PayPal to process my payment. That will put me back even more for a late payment! My question is, does it sound like I'll get an email saying the payment didn't work, or will Paypal use my credit card as a backup and pay the seller automatically if the bank account is empty??NOTE: I would go into the account online and check the funds now, but I am desperately tired and now on my way to bed!! Thanks to all potential answers!!

Default PayPal payment oops?? Help!!?

I bought something off Ebay being a first time Paypal user also. I never recieved my item, and money started randomly dissappearing from my account. We eventually had to stop use of this account because of it. I personally think Paypal is a scam.sorry, hope this helpped.

I occasionally use PayPal, and I could not figure out a way to have it charge my card instead of my checking account. From what I was able to determine, there is not an option to charge the credit card. It is only available as a backup to the primary payment account.I believe what will happen is if there aren't sufficient funds available from your checking account, it will automatically pay from your credit card account. That is what I determined from checking the PayPal website.

If you can, cancel the payment from the bank account or ask the seller to reject it. There may not be time for that now, but I would check with that first. Otherwise, put the funds in the bank to cover it. Change your settings on Paypal to use your card as your primary source.EDIT: For the answer above, Paypal is not a scam. I have used it without any trouble for years. Best thing since gravy!
