Importing Questions?

I want to buy some gold filled wire and findings from Israel and would like to know about import duties.
I have an ABN and would only be getting a few hundred dollars worth at a time via post.
Is there any other expenses I would incur?
Do i need to get a license?
Any other requirements i would need to meet?

Israel is cheap that is why there but anywhere that is cheap is good as long as they are good quality

Any imports into Australia under $1000 AUD are duty and GST free.

Is this correct? I thought if it's for personal use and less than $1000 it's GST & duty free.

But if it's a business purchase i thought you might need to pay duty & gst.
