Hi pineally,
With the customs service, an I.P owner has to have lodged an objection with customs for them to ever hold up the goods.
In most cases these objections relate to fake or counterfeit products.
You may find in some cases that although you are able to import and sell the product, you may not be able to advertise the brand, or use the company logo's etc in your marketing.
This is the case with my business, I am not allowed to use some designers logo's and likenesses in my marketing, for example, I import and sell Calvin Klein products, this is ok, but I am not permitted by the Australian distributor / license holder to use the logo's etc in marketing. It is not that big a deal, if the product is well known.
I think the first thing you should do is contact the company that is the manufacturer /owner of the product you want to sell.
Hope this helps a little.
Cheers,
Jamie
