is it because of exports of Australia's products overseas increasing as more people buy and less imports into Australia or there are more people in the workforce than ever before.Why is the Australia dollar so high?What makes the Australian dollar go higher.Is it also that more people buy Australia made products.

I think the American dollar losing value has an indirect impact on your currency,and Aus probably has a "gold standard" instead of just printing it out like candy that's what USA does and it drives it down.

Austrailian Dollar is High just like just about every other currency in the world because the American dollar is weak and all currency is based on the American dollar

Mining. Were selling an amazing amount of iron ore to China along with many other minerals. Great if you work in the mining industry. Terrible for the rest of us. House prices in Perth have gone up like 3 times in last 5 years. As for products we basically have none, its all primary industry. Wheat and minerals. The weakness of the US dollar is also a big factor.

compared to what ?...the US$ has lost alot of it's value lately because of an economic downturn. The Canadian$ has gained value from that and also because Canada is tied to world oil and commodity prices, the higher they go the higher the Loonie goes. I don't know that much about the Australian economy.
