Oil just happens to be these middle eastern countries only natural resource. But lets look around shall we ? In most prosperous Middle Eats Countries they have big cities just like ours. Made up of American steel ,Cars and electronics from all over and do you see any trees growing around there? So they import lumber as well as many other things from many other countries.Fact is every country in the world does business with all the others across the world what they have to sell is of little consequence hell we get most of our oil from Saudi Arabia and even from central and south America. What else can we make this war over that it isn'tHell let's just turn it around by saying "Arabs are at war with us just for our steel and other resources"Sounds stupid huh ?

It's easy to find blame in the oil situation rather then the true reason we are in Iraq.More importantly is the fact we took a dictator who tortured and killed countless thousands on a whim. A man capable of gassing his own countrymen. A person who sent tens of thousands to fight a useless war against Iran. These facts have always...always...been at the fore front but many people choose to forget these facts. Many people refer back to the mass weapon issue or the harboring of terrorist. I'm sorry but if it were my family being killed off in a country where I was afraid to say one word against the government....I would have opened my arms to any invading country that could possibly set me free!!!! Many of you talk about oil and resources, or political agendas? In the end it doesn't matter because it's our men and women fighting this war...right or wrong...so I suggest we just do what we can to help!Force Recon - Semper Fi

In a way, it is about oil. As Greenspan (and greyzone2 alluded to), the war indirectly is about oil in that it is helping to maintain the supply of oil, not that it is to control the supply of oil.Is this the reason for the war? No. It was about (what later turned out to be faulty) reports that Saddam had a WMD program, which was in violation of many UN resolutions. But, on the flip side, Israel is in violation of many UN resolutions, but we don't invade them, do we?

People believe this because media points it to that. If they even knew why they wouldn't believe this. No one can truly understand unless they are in the military fighting over there and see what we do.....no one.

Anything junior bush touches turns to Shiite, didn't you know that?If Saddam had not threatened DADDY then he would have found some other reason to do what he did. DADDY wanted to go all the way into Baghdad, but his advisers advised him NOT to, the reasons were all valid, however junior decided to go any way. Well guess what??? Everything that DADDY's advisers said would happen, did happen...DADDY smart...junior D U M B 4,000+ American Troops Dead and an untold number disabled for life. Way to go a**hole, way to go.
