Will GM and Ford ever import their Australian counterparts Ute's to the USA?
With General Motors, the cost is currently too high to import the Holden since it's an Australia specific car.As for Ford though, the engine for the Falcon is manufactured in the US, as well as much of their interior components. It would be cheaper. And with the potential end to the Ranger, it's highly likely that Ford will bring either the Courier from South America/Mexico or the Falcon Ute to replace it.There have been many rumours that the new Falcon is being engineered to be available as a Right Hand Drive vehicle, with potential to replace the Crown Victoria within the next five years.
