Default Vector marketing...business ethics won't cut it....?

I'm getting hired as an independent contractor, so I won't be under labor-laws, which is another reason I doubt the legitimacy. There's no contracts I am filling out, they didn't ask about my job experience in the interview, and I didn't fill out a W-4! They say there's NO NO NO door-to-door begging or telemarketing involved, yet that seems to be the only feasible method for the age group they promote to. Lies!!!So this is what i researched and feel like now. BUTI have a second training day tomorrow, and I'm thinking about going for it, and giving this a shot for a few weeks MAYBE that long instead of running away from it. Though, I suppose my question would be, is this how all corporate America views business? Ethics surely went out the window here. How is this kind of psychological bullshitting fed to "ignorant" or "goal-oriented" college kids as prey legal? Perhaps a rhetorical question. If anyone working for them is doing good please don't hesitate to write down how.

I think they've been around for awhile, and actually have a pretty good system. I can't remember the deal, but I interviewed with them and ended up shying away, but regretted it, as I met with people later in life who went down the path and had a decent run with them. My suggestion is to enjoy it and have a good run with them, and accept it for what it is, a practical training ground for outside sales. You can leverage the experience in any number of more traditional business segments, but should allow for flexibility while you go to school and also provide a sound, transferable "sales education."Like anything, though, if you can't get your head around the ethics, or it's something unenjoyable, then don't do it.I've actually recruited people from this company before. Good experience in tandem with college degree for a real professional career.

yeah, you are selling knives to your friends and family, and their friends and family. its really no different than, say, life insurance where you have to hit up every person you know, and who they know, and get names of people you can call and say referred you.and so on, and so on, etc. my sister did this 20 years ago. hopefully your parents want to buy knives and can get everyone they know at work to buy some from you.cheesy consumer sales marketing pitch, but at least its not magazine subscriptions.
