what can I do with Liberal Arts Major? How can I know God's direction for my life?

Christians Only? During my college years, I majored in Liberal Arts. After I graduated from college I went on a long term mission. Upon returning to the state, my first real job in the working world was legal assistant. After a month, I got laid off from that company because they did not like me. I got a second job at a law firm but the business weren't going too well. I had to quit that job about two weeks ago. How can I know which direction to take when a stable job is not being opened? why is it so hard to take challenges? for position? is it better to go to a graduate school thinking that I will earn more later? or is it better to stay in work thinking that I would get promoted? how can i know which job to take? I am afraid that I will get laid off and laid off due to bad experiences...how can I know what God want me to do? and really feel comfortable about working?

You can work at McDonald's, or any other fast food restaurant for that matter.You can't really do much with a Liberal Arts degree since so many people have them. Having one, you'll be lucky if you get a job that doesn't require you to say, "do you want fries with that?"

You are looking for the outer world, your circumstances to tell you what your direction is. This is a common ploy of the ego. You have to go to God, He created you with purpose. Fervent prayer. Let Him take your fear.

First of all, I think you need to ask yourself why don't these people like you?Is it because you don't try to understand them and "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."?If you can follow that tenet, you'll find everybody liking you and your life will be a lot easier.Peace.ST

Why not get a masters? Knowledge is a good thing and it gets you higher pay/ more job opportunities. sorry I am not christian but I believe my asnwer is relevent to one in any religion.

Don't rely on God's direction, use your own. Remember that God directed many Gay men into the rectories.

Your problem is simple. You really think that you can work in a law firm with a Liberal Arts degree? Now that you know that you can't you are asking your god to tell you what to do? Go back to school for a couple more years and study something that can really help you, and also get rid of that god on your back and you will change your own life, or if you do not you are going to remain in your mud hole.
